Each year, we gather in love, unity, and celebration at Camp Wakanda Forever Inc. to honor the life and legacy of the Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey. This family-friendly event is more than just a picnic it’s a cultural experience rooted in pride, purpose, and people. From delicious food and refreshing drinks for sale, to live speeches, music, vendor booths, games, and even a kite-building workshop, The Big Picnic offers something for everyone. Children 12 and under gets complimentary hotdog and drink, and guests are encouraged to BYOS (Bring Your Own Stuff) tents, chairs, BBQs, coolers, and positive energy! Want to stay the night? We’ve got space for RVs, washroom facilities, and tents for rent. Don’t miss the $1,000 domino tournament, powerful moments of reflection, and the kind of vibes you only find when our community comes together. The Big Picnic is a vibrant annual celebration hosted by Camp Wakanda Forever Inc. to honor the birthday and legacy of the Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey. It’s a day filled with food, music, games, culture, and community, designed to bring together families, friends, and supporters of Black unity and empowerment.

🕘 Time: From 9:00 AM until late – come early and stay all day!
Absolutely! The Big Picnic is designed with families in mind. There will be activities for all ages, including games for kids, cultural performances, live music, and plenty of open space for relaxation and play. Plus, children 12 and under eat free!
General admission is free, but donations are encouraged to support the ongoing work of Camp Wakanda Forever Inc. Food, merchandise, and some activities may have a separate cost. VIP packages may also be available please check our website for updates.
Registration is recommended but not mandatory. It helps us plan for food and activities and ensures you get updates about the event. Early registrants may receive a complimentary Camp Wakanda souvenir!
Bring your picnic gear blankets, lawn chairs, umbrellas, and your joyful spirit! You’re welcome to bring small coolers, but outside alcohol is not permitted. Dress comfortably and be prepared for sunshine.
Yes! There will be a variety of delicious Caribbean and soul food vendors, drinks, snacks, and two massive BBQs cooking up a storm. Come hungry!
Yes, we have designated parking onsite. Volunteers will be on hand to guide you. We recommend carpooling where possible to reduce traffic and environmental impact.
This is a rain-or-shine event. We’ll have large tents and sheltered areas to ensure the celebration continues no matter the weather.
There is no direct public transit to Camp Wakanda Forever, but rideshare coordination and community shuttle options may be announced closer to the date. Stay tuned to our updates on social media.

For everyone’s safety and comfort, we ask that you leave pets at home unless they are certified service animals or well behaved.
